About the Record

The songs on the ‘Hear Our Praises’ record were written from a personal love for God but also as a tool to ignite passion in people to worship our amazing Creator and Savior. You will find a theme throughout this record of praising God for what He has done for us. Even though we were dead to our sins, God who is rich in mercy and because of the great love He has for us gave His only son that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life. The wonderful thing about this was that eternal life was a gift. There was and is still nothing we can do to earn a place in it. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast” (Eph 2:8). It was simply a free gift from our God in heaven! That is true love. And the best part is that forever we are going to live eternally with Him. We are eternally His children and nothing, not even death, can take this Life. It is because of this love that compels me to live a life worthy of Him.

The thrust behind the outward praise of these songs is the desire that I will give in return a life of praise and worship. I’m not talking about singing. That is only an aspect. I’m talking about a lifestyle. Any way that I can demonstrate my love for God, for who He is, and what He has done, is my praise and worship. Just as it’s stated in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Throughout the record you will see a theme of praise because that is who I am. The core of worship to me is living who you are in Christ’s image. Jesus said to His disciples, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John13:34,35) That is the beat of my heart. He died to save us. Bottom line. And all I could ever do in return is praise Him through a life of righteousness. I want to compel all people to let the Gospel in their hearts shine through an outward lifestyle of praise.
